Give me a call and I will be very pleased to speak
with you about how private instruction can benefit your dancing
and your enjoyment of dance.
I teach at the Metronome Ballroom Monday through Thursday
and in San Rafael on Fridays. Occasionally I teach Saturday or Sunday.

Working
with couples on their first dance is one of my specialties. Even
if you've never danced before I can make your first dance a comfortable
and fun experince. Along with private instruction for your first
dance, I can teach mini-group lessons for your bridal party and
even teach dance lessons and/or perform a professional dance exhibition
at your reception.
Along with teaching private
lessons and group classes,
I am available to host parties,
which I greatly enjoy. I am available to teach group lessons, give
a professional dance performance, dance with guests, and play various
dance music.

I have been studying swing, latin, and ballroom dance
for 20 years, and teaching for over 8 years. Teaching and sharing
my enjoyment of dance with other people is extremely rewarding for
me. I like teaching a variety of people, from those who are first
starting out, to the more advanced dancer and those interested in
competition. I teach social as well as competitive dancing. I especially
love to help wedding couples with their first dance, and other dance
related wedding arrangements.
I have been certified as a professional
dance instructor by
- Terpsichore Association
- NDCA (National Dance Council of America)
- DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dancers
Association)
- USISTD (United States International Society
of Teachers of Dance)
— The main purpose of group classes is to learn
new steps or patterns. You have the opportunity to practice what
you learn with different partners to become a better social dancer.
— Private lessons give you one-on-one instruction and personal
attention. They are tailored to meet your specific goals and desires.
Private lessons teach you more technique to improve the look and
feel of your dancing.
- Help beginners to formulate good foundation
skills
- More experienced dancers can further their
skills quickly
- Individual help with technique
- Can be made to fit your schedule
- Learn at your own pace
- Prepare for special events, like weddings
or corporate parties
- Competition dancers can get help on choreography,
coaching and technique
Private lessons may seem more expensive than group
classes, but private lessons accelerate your learning much more
so than a group class. It would be difficult, if not impossible,
to get the same depth of information and experience in a group class
as you can get working one-on-onw with a good teacher.
